Why Choose Dekton?
Dekton is a product of Cosentino. It is a ultra-compact blend of the raw minerals used to create glass, porcelain, and quartz. Dekton has become a popular choice for kitchen countertops and outdoor kitchens thanks to its ultra-durable and UV-resistant nature.
How durable is Dekton? Dekton is an ultra-compact mixture of raw minerals and pigments, manufactured in a way that makes the product very durable. It is scratch-resistant, stain-resistant, heat-resistant, UV-resistant, and impact-resistant. Unlike many natural stones, Dekton offers consistency in its patterns. There are many color and patterns options available. However, please note that unlike quartz, Dekton’s pattern is only visible on the surface—the inside of the material does not contain a pattern. This means that polished edges will look different that the face of the material. Most Dekton slabs are available in a polished finish, while some slabs are available in a honed/matte finish and even a leathered (textured) finish.
Where is Dekton used? Dekton is perfect for use throughout your house, both inside and outside! It’s even great for architectural purposes, such as exterior and interior wall cladding, or other large format purposes. Around the house, Dekton is a perfect option for projects such as kitchen countertops, laundry room countertops, bathroom vanities, outdoor kitchens, fireplace surrounds, wall cladding, shower surrounds, backsplashes, shower seats, desktops, and more!
Once you’ve picked a Dekton color for your countertop or other project, the next step is to pick an edge profile! Due to limitations in the material, Dekton is only available with certain edge profiles: eased, small bevel, or a mitered edge. Ask us which edge profiles we recommend!

DEKTON CARE & MAINTENANCE
Cleaning your Dekton countertops after each use (or at least daily) is recommended. Most general home cleaning products can be used on Dekton to wipe up dirt, spills, or any other residue. As with most of our products, we always suggest using warm, soapy water for daily cleaning. Feel free to also use any product specifically marketed as a Dekton cleaner or Dekton-safe product.
Sealing
From the way it is engineered and manufactured, Dekton is non-porous. It does not require sealing. Liquids cannot penetrate the surface; rather, they will bead up into droplets or puddles on the surface.
Heat
Dekton is a heat-resistant product. This gives you the ability to place hot pots directly on the surface. However, it is best practice to use a heat trivet as extra protection. As with any product, Dekton not indestructible.
Scratching
Dekton is an ultra-compact mixture of raw minerals. Due to its dense nature, it is extremely scratch-resistant. But as always, it is best practice to use a cutting board when chopping, cutting, or when using sharp knives.
Staining
Dekton is stain-proof. Any stubborn spills or scuff marks can be scrubbed out with a soft sponge and soapy water.
Durability
Although extremely durable, Dekton can chip or break if impacted by a heavy object. Do not stand on your countertop or bang items against it. Use care when placing large or heavy objects on your countertops.
