Smooth Countertop Installation: Your Appointment Guide
Installation is just another step in the construction process. Expect some noise, dust, and general interruption of the room in which they are being installed. If you will be living in the home during this process, plan accordingly to minimize the disruption on daily activities. Some installation projects can take several hours, depending on complexity.
In order for your project to go smoothly, we ask that you prepare for your Install Appointment by following the steps below.
PLEASE NOTE: If our Install Team arrives on site and is unable to complete the Install Appointment due to any of the steps below not being completed, you will incur a trip fee for us to return at a later date. Your final invoice will be revised to reflect the additional fee(s).
REMOVAL
Remove your old countertop (if customer is responsible), sinks, cooktop, appliances, etc.
Remove drawers and either cover or remove items in lower cabinets.
Disconnect plumbing and all gas appliances.
Move all breakables from areas affected by installation work.
SAFETY
Make sure the job site is accessible for our Install Team (entrances have been built, driveway has been graveled/poured, job site is not muddy, etc).
Create a clear path through your home for easy access to the installation area.
Ensure areas with large overhang have additional support installed (if customer is responsible).
Keep children and pets away from the construction area.
COMMUNICATION
There must be an authorized person on-site or accessible by telephone (at least 18 years of age) on installation day to answer questions.
PLUMBER/ELECTRICIAN
If necessary, schedule a plumber and/or electrician for the day following installation so they can reconnect plumbing and wiring. MGW offers plumbing services. Please contact us if you’d like us to arrange plumbing reconnection.
BACKSPLASH
Matching full-height backsplash is a two-part process. For full-height backsplashes (and sometimes for shorter backsplashes), our Install Team will take exact measurements after installation of the countertop. The backsplash will then be installed a few days later.
FINAL PAYMENT
Please have final payment ready for our Install Team to collect. Our Install Team can accept cash or check. Write checks out to Marble Granite World. For credit or debit cards*, please call our office for payment, 336-585-8674.
