QUARTZ CARE & MAINTENANCE
Cleaning your quartz countertops after each use (or at least daily) is recommended. Use warm, soapy water or any ammonia-free and bleach-free cleaning solution to wipe up dirt, spills, or any other residue. Feel free to also use any product specifically marketed as a granite or quartz cleaner or granite-safe or quartz-safe product. You can also ask us about our 3-in-1 “Cleaner, Protector, Polisher”, available for purchase!
Sealing
Quartz does NOT require sealer, as it manufactured with a polymer resin that serves as a permanent sealant.
Heat
Quartz is a heat-durable product. Due to the fact that it is not 100% natural, it can crack or pop if high temperatures are applied to a concentrated area. Avoid placing hot pots and slow cookers directly on the surface. It is best practice to use a heat trivet as extra protection. As with any product, quartz is not indestructible.
Scratching
Quartz is scratch-resistant. This gives you the ability to cut directly on the surface, although you may eventually dull your knives! It is best practice to use a cutting board as extra protection, especially for heavy cutting and chopping. Remember, quartz is not indestructible, therefore it is not scratch-proof! If you ever find your quartz has scratched, contact us to see how we can help remedy the situation.
Staining
Quartz is virtually stain-proof due to the fact that it is engineered with a built-in sealer; however, certain products such as nail polish, permanent marker, or turmeric can leave “ghost marks” if they are left to sit on the quartz surface for too long. Aggressive scuff marks or spills on quartz can be removed using any non-abrasive cleaner (i.e. Soft Scrub, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, or dishwasher soap) and gentle pressure.
Durability
Quartz is very durable. It is very impact-resistant. However, with the right force and angle of impact, quartz can chip or break. Do not stand on your countertop or bang items against it. Use care when placing large or heavy objects on your countertops.
